This is a stack of blue disc beads hanging on deep blue leather cord.  The antiqued copper findings are subtle and earthy.   I love the color of this blue and the imperfect shape of the discs.

Weekend Weekend!!! Not the best in terms of weather but I will take it over the 6 inches of snow we had this week.  I have a couple of projects brewing in the house! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday so far.

Dragon Eyes
These barrel beads give off a fun dragon or reptilian vibe.  The beads are creating using a dark black glass.  I shape and roll the glass while molten to make a elongated bead.  The layer dots are placed and melted in while trying to preserve the barrel shape.  It hangs on olive green and deep purple leather cord.  The findings are antiqued brass and copper mixed.

I love disc beads! I wrap and wrap to make these beauties.   They show motion and highlight the tones of each glass..plus they are an easy technique used with a variety of glasses. I love simple circles and how they can be fit into various pieces...pretty fun and beautiful.
With this break...comes a project...an overhaul of my "space".  I have created a magnet wall with a piece of sheet metal from a heating and cooling company and a few magnets, hooks and some severe organization.  I have also thrown in there a few pieces of inspiration and beauty.   This will get me to a better place where I can create more efficiently and enjoy creating without a clutter.

Swirls...

I took these out of the kiln this morning and couldn't help but put them in a piece right away.  The body of the bead is a simple clear glass.  I then wind a solid glass around the body and melt it in gently in the flame.  The beads are fun and a hint of motion.   I hope to fire up the kiln again today and create an earring set to match this piece.   I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Spring Tones

Leather, glass, strings, metals, and stones all combine together in this fun piece.  The large stone and my lamp work bead are kind of reminiscent of beautiful robin eggs and the colors of spring.  The treasures in this piece make it casual and fun.
Hope everyone has a bright and sunny Saturday!  I have this upcoming week off ...so bring on the creative thoughts and torch time!
